FRUITA, Colo. - Bella Castleton scored the first two points of the game for the Palisade Bulldogs, but it was all Tigers after that as Grand Junction picked up the big win 46-24.
After Castleton's opening basket, the Tigers finished off the first quarter on a 12-0 run thanks to baskets by Fawn Brady, Paula Lage, Jamie Derrieux, and Lisa Hughes. Derrieux scored six of her eight points in the first quarter.
Brady and Stephanie Drake tied for a team high 10 points for the Tigers in the win. Elizabeth Heaps chipped in with five points.
Palisade was led by Holly Odneal's 10 points and Castleton's eight.
The Tigers will finish off the Wildcat Inviational on Saturday morning at 9:00 against Thunderridge.
The Bulldogs will wrap up the tournament against Columbine at 10:45 on Saturday morning.
