GRAND JUNCTION - The Mesa State Baseball team was back at practice for the first time in 2009 on Tuesday afternoon at Mesa State College.

The Mavs won the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference regular season title last year before being eliminated in the RMAC tournament at Suplizio Field.

The Mavs failed to earn a bid to the NCAA Division II regional tournament despite winning the school's fourth straight regular season conference title. Now the Mavs are back with a chip on their shoulder to prove that they are still a winning program.

To hear what head coach Chris Hanks, Matt Bodenchuk, and Mike Provencher had to say about the upcoming season, click on the video above.
