DENVER (AP) - Center fielder Scott Podsednik and left-hander Glendon Rusch are among nine players who agreed to minor league contracts today with the Colorado Rockies. Podsednik and Rusch were both invited to spring training.
Other non-roster invitees to Rockies camp included right-hander Matt Belisle, lefty Cedric Bowers, infielders Luis Gonzalez and Jonathan Herrera, outfielder Dan Ortmeier and catchers Edwin Bellorin and Paul Phillips.
Of those, Podsednik, Rusch, Bowers, Bellorin and Herrera played for Colorado last season. Gonzalez, who hasn't played in the majors in three years, was a member of the rockies from 2004-06.
He played the past two seasons with the Yomiuri Giants in Japan. Podsednik hit .253 with one homer, 15 RBIs and 12 stolen bases in 93 games for Colorado last season.
Rusch made 35 appearances, including nine starts, for the Rockies and Padres. He went 5-5 overall, including 4-2 as a starter with Colorado.
