GRAND JUNCTION - Junior College baseball is a part of life for all baseball players and fans alike in the Grand Junction area thanks to the annual JUCO World Series. But for Central Warriors catcher Travis Key, Junior College baseball has become a reality.

On Thursday morning in front of family, coaches, fellow students, and the media Key signed his national letter of intent to play baseball for the Eastern Arizona Gila Monsters.

Eastern Arizona participates in the Arizona Community College Athletic Conference (ACCAC) along with three-time JUCO champions Yavapai College, and two-time JUCO champions Central Arizona. Eastern Arizona has never made it to the JUCO World Series.

The ACCAC is a conference that only allows the use of wooden bats during conference play.

Key said that now that his decision has been made he will be able to enjoy his senior season with his Warriors teammates. To hear what Key had to say at the press conference on Thursday morning, click on the video above.
