Mesa Women's Coach Steps down

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo - Mesa State Women's Basketball Coach Timi Brown has will step down at the end of the season. Brown is currently in her fifth season as the Mavericks Head Coach. Mesa State Athletic Director Butch Miller confrimed that a search for a new women's head basketball coach will begin immediately.

Prior to this season, Brown had lead Mesa St. to a 52-56 record in four seasons. Last season the Mavericks had their best performance in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference under Brown, finishing tied for second place with a 12-7 record.

This season the Mavericks started the season with 3 wins in their first five games but followed that by losing 11 in a row, snapping the losing streak in their most recent game, a 68-39 win at home over New Mexico Highlands.

Mesa St. is currently 4-13 (1-8 RMAC) with their next game scheduled for Tuesday at Western State in Gunnison.
