Billups Picked As All-Star Reserve

DENVER (AP) - Chauncey Billups made his fourth straight All-Star team Thursday, earning a spot as a reserve on the Western Conference squad.

The Denver Nuggets guard was acquired Nov. 3 in a deal that shipped Allen Iverson to Detroit. The trade has instantly paid dividends as the Nuggets are 29-13 since the arrival of Billups, who grew up in Denver.

Carmelo Anthony, a two-time All Star, didn't make the squad. Anthony has been out since breaking a bone in his right hand in a game against Indiana on Jan. 5. He is scheduled to return Friday night against Charlotte.

The 32-year-old Billups is averaging 18.8 points and 6.5 assists this season.

Billups made three straight Eastern Conference All-Star teams while with Detroit.
