MONTROSE, Colo - The Montrose girls basketball team continued to show their are the class of the Southwestern League with a win over the Fruita Monument Wildcats, 55-38 on Tuesday.
With one game left to play in the regular season, the Indians clinched the 2009 SWL title with the 17 point win on senior night.
Katie Abel made the win even more memorable by setting the state record for three-point field goals.
Senior Rachel Hansen was quick to point out that despite having the league title locked up, the Indians feel it's important to continue their momentum into the playoffs by winning at Central on Friday in the regular season finale.
