GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO)-- The Palisade Bulldogs and the Rifle Bears may have another meeting on the horizon.
The Bulldogs received the ninth seed in the tournament and they face the eighth seed Roosevelt High on Saturday.
The real topic of conversation, however, is the potential second round contest for the Bulldogs. Barring a major upset by 16th seeded Erie, top seeded Rifle will face the victor between Palisade and Roosevelt.
"If [Rifle] is that good, which I think they are," said Palisade's head coach John Arledge on Monday, "then you're going to face them at some point."
The Bulldogs will be on the road against Roosevelt on Saturday.
Per CHSAA rules, if Palisade and Rilfe play each other in the second round, Palisade will host because it will not have hosted a playoff game yet this season and the Bears will have hosted one playoff game.
Rifle beat Palisade 31-3 during the regular season when the teams were ranked No. 1 and No. 2, respectively.
