Mavs Move Into 2nd Place Tie In RMAC-West

GRAND JUNCTION - The Mesa State men's basketball team won its third straight game and moves into second place in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference West Division standings with a 73-63 win over the Fort Lewis Skyhawks on Friday night.

Jase Herl led the Mavs with 16 points and seven rebounds to go with 14 points and six rebounds from Kurt Bangle.

Mesa State (11-5 RMAC) has now won eight of its last ten games to move into a tie with the Skyhawks (11-5 RMAC) for second in the division. New Mexico Highlands is the division leader with a 12-4 record in RMAC play.

The Mavs will play their final home game of the regular season on Saturday night at 8:00 against the Adams State Grizzlies at Brownson Arena.

The Mavs will have a shot at overtaking New Mexico Highlands next Friday, February 27 on the road at 8:00 p.m.
