UPDATED: State Wrestling Results

DENVER - There were over a dozen local area wrestlers that made it as far as the semi-finals of the 2009 Colorado State Championships.

NBC 11 Sports wants to congratulate all of the local wrestlers who went as far as the semi finals.

In 5A Central's Matthew Gurule won his second title at 103 lbs. Jesus Rodriguez took fifth place at 125 lbs. Daniel Rodriguez placed fourth at 130 lbs., so did Zach Rosales at 285 lbs. Fruita Monument's Taylor Termentozzi finished in second at 171 lbs.

In 4A Drew Schumann from Montrose took fifth place at 112 lbs. Palisade's Kelly Davis came in sixth at 130 lbs.

Olathe's Zach Shank won the 3A title at 112 lbs. His teammate J.C. Jiminez finished sixth in at 160 lbs. and Michael Beard from Hotchkiss took second place at 215 lbs.

Four wrestlers from Paonia placed in 2A. Preston Bonine finished in fourth place at 112 lbs. Justin Iacovetto won the 2A title at 119 lbs. Justin smith finsihed second at 145 lbs. And Lukas Wiggins won the 152 lb 2A championship.

In the overall team standings Olathe finished second in 3A behind Centauri. Paonia won the 2A team championship with 139.5 points.
