Montrose Girls Advance to Sweet 16

MONTROSE, Colo - The Montrose girls basketball team earned a no. 1 seed and a first round bye in the 4A state playoffs. The Indians dispatched their first opponent of the playoffs, beating Widefield 49-39 on Friday.

The Indians opened up a 10-0 lead over the Gladiators and led by 10 at halftime before going on to win by 10. The victory sends Montrose to the "sweet 16".

In the third round Montrose will host no. 4 seed Mitchell (14-10) on Thursday, March 5.
