GRAND JUNCTION - Only two field goals were made in the fourth quarter by the Central girls' basketball team, but they hit 10 of 17 free throws down the stretch to secure the win over Ponderosa 51-47 on Friday night.
Stacey Kinnett led the charge for Central by connecting on six of nine free throws in the final period.
With the win the Lady Warriors will now play in the Sweet 16 round of the 5A state playoffs on Wednesday against Arapahoe. Arapahoe beat Chatfield on Friday night in the second round 66-53.
