DENVER - Amy Kame scored a game high 20 points for the Central girls' basketball team on Friday afternoon, but it wasn't enough to get past top seeded Horizon in a 50-42 loss at the 5A State Tournament.
The Warriors trailed by as many as 20 points but were able to climb all the way back and narrow the deficit to six with under one minute left in the game.
In the fourth quarter Kame fell hard to the floor after rolling her ankle in what appeared to be a serious injury. After a few moments she was able to get back to her feet when she told head coach Todd Dixon that she would not leave the game. Kame nearly brought her team all the way to victory.
Junior forward Haleigh Higgins added eight points in the loss.
