BOULDER, Colo. (AP) - Goodbye, Redhawks. Hello, Rockets.
The University of Colorado says the University of Toledo has replaced Miami-Ohio on its 2009 football schedule.
The Sept. 11 game at Toledo's Glass Bowl Stadium will be the first ever matchup between the two schools. It will be televised nationally by ESPN.
The switch was prompted by a scheduling conflict.
School officials say the contract with Miami had called for a $750,000 payment if either school canceled, but that was negated when a suitable replacement was found. Miami has agreed to play a men's basketball game in Boulder in the next season as part of the agreement.
Since Toledo is a replacement opponent, it will not be returning the game to Boulder.
CU will now have at least four games nationally televised this fall.
