GRAND JUNCITON, Colo - The Mesa State baseball team overcame Saturday's bench-clearing incident and Sunday's high winds to complete a four-game series sweep of CSU-Pueblo.
The Mavericks fell behind 4-1 early but began a rally in the bottom of the fifth inning when they closed the gap to 4-3. \
Marty Rover tied the game at 4-4 in the bottom of the sixth, reaching from third base on a Pueblo error when Justin Little was stealing second. Kevin Becker drove in Little for the go ahead run and then Matt Bodenchuk hit a 2-run homerun to put Mesa up 7-5.
The Mavericks finished the game with a 10-6 victory. The only significantly bad thing from the game was that right fielder Mike Provencher suffered what appeared to be a left ankle injury stretching to reach first base on a single. Provencher was replaced in the lineup by Chris Cassel.
Mesa State plays at Nebraska-Kearney next weekend.
