GRAND JUNCTION - For the fourth straight time this season the Central Warriors have lost a Southwestern League game.
The Fruita Monument Wildcats remain on the heels of the Grand Junction Tigers in the SWL standings after the Wildcats handed the Warriors a 10-0 loss at Suplizio Field on Wednesday night.
The 10 runs scored on Wednesday makes it 46 runs scored in the last two games by the Wildcats. Fruita defeated Montezuma-Cortez last Friday 36-11.
The Wildcats put together a six run fourth inning to build the 10-0 lead over the Warriors.
Central threatened to keep the game alive in the top of the fifth by putting the first two batters of the inning on base, but Cody Rahman retired the next three batters to end the game.
The Warriors and the Wildcats both have the next nine days off before playing again. The Wildcats hit the road to play against Montrose on Friday, April 17 at 4:00 p.m. The Warriors take on the Grand Junction Tigers that same night at 6:00 at Suplizio Field.
