Palisade Baseball Wins Doubleheadeer

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo - The Palisade baseball team's toughest opponent this season has been mother nature. Soggy spring weather and frequent snow and rain storms have caused the Bulldogs to cancel or postpone a large portion of their games this season.

The Battle Mountain baseball team has been hurt almost as much by the weather this season. In fact, the Huskies' home field is in such poor condition it has been deemed unfit for competition.

The Bulldogs' and Huskies' combined troubles forced the two teams to condense a home-and-home series into a doubleheader on Tuesday. In the first game, Battle Mountain was designated as the home team, even though it was played on Palisade's home field at Canyon View Park.

Palisade played like the home team in both games however, coming back from a 3-0 deficit in the first game to win 13-6. Game two turned into a 10-0 shutout victory for the Bulldogs.

Palisade is scheduled to host Steamboat for a doubleheader at Suplizio Field on Thursday.
