GRAND JUNCTION - Spring time is most closely associated with baseball in the sporting world but in most college towns in America, you can also associate this time of year with spring football. And it's no different for the Mesa State football team.
The Mavs spring practices come to an end this weekend with what is being called the first annual "Lawn Chair Bowl" and you can attend.
Parents of current Mavs football players have organized the game to help raise funds in these tight economic times which will help the Mavs afford travel costs for road games this fall.
Game time is set for this Saturday at Bergman Field at 10:00 a.m. Bring your own lawn chair and $5 to get in. An additional $5 will allow you to meet the coaches and players in a post-game BBQ.
If the Mavs can't raise enough money they will have to drop a game from their schedule.
