DENVER - The Mesa State softball team avoided elimination throughout the RMAC tournament. That is, until Saturday's championship.

Mesa started saturday by getting revenge against the Colorado School of Mines. The Orediggers beat the Mavericks in the first round on Thursday. On Saturday Mesa won the rematch 7-3 in the tournament semifinals.

That earned Mesa a finals berth against host-school and top-seeded Metro State. The Roadrunners made their dominance clear, beating the Mavericks 8-0.
