Officials with the Youth Baseball League of New Haven say they will disband Scott's team because his coach won't stop him from pitching. GRAND JUNCTION, Colo - The Grand Mesa senior boys little league All-Stars made sure they would not need to play two games in the district championship against Fruita on Tuesday.
Grand Mesa was leading 16-0 after just two innings, thanks in part to a first inning grand slam by Brenton Steinkirchner. And their pitching was just as good as their hitting. In the bottom of the third inning while leading 18-0, Grand Mesa's Mickey Clark struck out the side in order, getting the first two batters swinging and the third looking to end the inning.
In the top of the fourth, Clark showed he can hit as well as pitch. With the bases loaded he hit a grand slam well over the left-field wall, making the score 25-0.
Grand Mesa won 27-1, clinching the district title and earning a spot in the State tournament.
