GRAND JUNCTION, Colo - Special Olympics of Colorado has been providing a great opportunity for people with disabilities in Colorado, but the program needs the support of volunteers to succeed.

The program offers sports like alpine skiing, basketball, track & field, swimming, golf, tennis, cycling and perhaps the biggest hit, softball.

On Monday about 150 athletes, coaches and umpires played their annual softball tournament, complete with opening ceremonies and medals.

Special Olympics is operated completely on volunteer support. Organizers say that anyone with a little spare time can get involved and that there are many different volunteer opportunities. To find out how you can volunteer go to specialolympicsco.org or simply follow the link below.
