Montrose hoop teams fall in Sweet 16
Two great seasons came to an end in the Sweet 16 of the 4A State Playoffs on Saturday evening. The #3 Lady Indians fell to #2 Conifer 54-37 at Conifer High School, and the #5 Montrose boys lost to top-seeded Longmont 73-59 at Longmont High School.

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) -- Two great seasons came to an end in the Sweet 16 of the 4A State Playoffs on Saturday evening. The #3 Lady Indians fell to #2 Conifer 54-37 at Conifer High School, and the #5 Montrose boys lost to top-seeded Longmont 73-59 at Longmont High School.
The Montrose girls finish the season 18-7. They lose one player to graduation: star center Hanna Bowden.
As for the Montrose boys, they finish 18-8. They, too, lose just one player to graduation: starting guard Shadrach Jensen.
Both teams will be among the favorites to win the Southwestern League in 2010-2011.
