GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. Two of the most talked about athletes in Colorado Mesa athletics, Austin Kaiser and Sharaya Selsor, were named RMAC Scholar-Athletes for the 2013-2014 year.
Colorado Mesa had an incredible athletic year, winning five RMAC Championships and two RMAC Tournament titles, leaving them with the RMAC All-Sports Competition Cup for the first time in school history.
For women's basketball, Sharaya Selsor was a key component. She averaged 23.7 points and 4.5 rebounds per game, being named All-American by three organizations while becoming a finalist for the WBCA National Player of the Year honor. She graduated with a 3.53 GPA in Sports Management.
Baseball's Austin Kaiser earned the Tino Martinez and DII National Player of the Year awards, leading the Mavericks to the NCAA Division II title game. He finished off the season as the leader in batting average, hits, and total bases, graduating with a 3.81 GPA in Sports Management.
In order to win the award the athlete must carry at least a 3.30 GPA, be of good character, and have participated in two or more seasons.
