GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO)-- Breaking news: David Dahl, the Colorado Rockies 1st round draft pick in the 2012 MLB Entry Draft (10th pick overall), confirms that he will start his professional baseball career in Grand Junction.
In an interview with RootSports' Drew Goodman and George Frazier, Dahl said he will be traveling to Grand Junction on Wednesday, June 13th.
A recent graduate of Oak Mountain High School in Birmingham, Alabama, Dahl said he suspects that he will be playing centerfield for the GJ Rockies in the team's inaugural season on the Western Slope. Dahl signed his rookie contract on Tuesday, which was reported to be worth $2.6M.
The Grand Junction Rockies will also host Eddie Butler, the Rockies 46th overall pick in this year's draft. Butler is a right-handed pitcher from Radford University.
