GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO)-- KKCO 11 Sports has confirmed that Colorado Rockies first-baseman Todd Helton will play in Grand Junction this Friday and Saturday for the Grand Junction Rockies.
Helton is recovering from inflammation in his right hip, which caused him to go on the 15-day disabled on July 13th, but retroactive to July 9th.
The 5-time MLB All-Star, 3-time Gold Glove winner, and 4-time Silver Slugger played three games in Rookie League with the Casper Ghosts in 2010. During those games, he was 5-for-10 at the plate with 5 RBI.
The Rockies begin their series with the Missoula Osprey Thursday night at 7:00pm.
