CMU BB: Mavs look to sweep New Mexico Highlands on the road

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. On Friday Colorado Mesa is on the road for their first series against New Mexico Highlands, and they'll be looking to make it 10 straight.

The Mavs have once again found their rhythm in another season, defeating their last two opponents with a series sweep. Now, one-third of the way through the schedule, they sit in first in the division and the conference.

Friday they'll start up their series against the Cowboys, the top team in the Plains Division. Last year the Mavs delivered a series sweep, and once again they're expecting to do the same carrying confidence in how their team has been performing.

"I feel like we're just playing well as a team right now," said Garrett Carpenter. "Everyone's just worried about doing their job and everyone's executing right now."

"We've been pitching it very well," said head coach Chris Hanks. "The bats are coming around a little bit. I think we're getting better, still have a ways to go, but we have a good test this weekend on the road at New Mexico Highlands."
