CMU Baseball: Mavs exact revenge on Thunderwolves

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) - The Mavs were put in unusual territory on Sunday, having to recover from a loss delivered pretty handily by the CSU Pueblo Thunderwolves.

But that didn't get the Mesa boys down for long.

CMU came out on fire, scoring 3 runs in the bottom of the first and setting the tone for what ended up being a blowout.

Kyle Davis was masterful on the mound, keeping the Thunderwolves off balance at the plate on his way to a 4 hit 7 strikeout performance.

Mesa had plenty of offensive presence as well. Nate Robertson threw out a couple of hits and driving in 3 runs.

In the 8th Mitch Corwin came up to the dish with the bases loaded, and if this game needed one final nail in the coffin he delivered it. Corwin smashed a towering grand slam to right, giving the Mavs a 15-1 final score.
