CMU Baseball: Mavs small-ball leads them to victory

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) - Colorado Mesa hit 5 home runs against Regis Friday night, but coming into today's double-header they knew that a repeat performance wasn't likely.

In game one they faced Steven Brault who is the strikeout leader in the RMAC. But the Mavs countered with Matt Williams, who boasts a team-high 4 complete games.

Williams went the full 7 again in this one, striking out 7 and giving up only 2 runs.

Tamatoa Demello drove in two runs in the fourth to give Mesa the lead, and they never gave it back, winning by a final score of 6-2.
