GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) - If there is one strength to this years Mavericks baseball team, it's their pitching staff.
Saturday's double header against rival New Mexico Highlands was dominated by excellent pitching, first by transfer Matt Williams and capped off by Joey Danner.
Both hurlers went the full 7 innings (typical in double-header games), allowing only 1 run on 6 hits.
The Mavs finish up their 4 game series with the Cowboys Sunday at noon.
