GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) - The Mesa Mavericks historic season will continue to San Antonio, Texas for the NCAA Div. II quarterfinals on March 26.
The (1)Mavericks pulled out a huge, hard-fought win against the (2)Midwestern State Mustangs on Monday with a 69-65 victory in the final seconds.
The Mustangs jumped to a quick lead early in the first half, but CMU never gave up. The teams sat tied going into the second half, but in the end the Mavericks powered through for the big four-point win.
They will travel to San Antonio, Texas where they will face the (3)Dowling Golden Lions on March 26th at 3:30 PM.
