GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) The School of Mines Orediggers have held the upper hand throughout the program's history, taking 13 straight games, leaving the Mavs winless. That all changed when Mesa came away with the 2-1 win.
Spencer Jackson was first to get his team on the board. A little accident off the foot of his opponent helped do the trick for the 1-0 lead in the first period. CMU goalie Micah Conrads would be able to keep the School of Mines to zero through the first half, but in the second they found a way around to tie the game.
But with nearly ten minutes left in the match, CMU's Stevie Palma came up with a huge kick that sailed over the head of the Orediggers goalie and they held out for the win.
