GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) - It was an up-and-down series for the Lady Mavs, and that's reflected in their record.
After coming into Saturday's double header tied with the Mountain Lions at 1-1, they let what could have been a series win slip into a tie by losing the back end of their double-header.
They won the front end 2-1 on the arm of Jessica Severinsen, who pitched all 7 innings giving up only one solo homerun.
In the second game, Severinsen was called on again when UCCS tagged Courtney Shreves for 3 runs early. Unfortunately, the Mavs bats could not wake up in time to rally for a win, falling 0-4.
Next weekend the ladies will be on the road at Western New Mexico University.
