GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. Colorado Mesa couldn't hold on in the final minutes of their lacrosse match-up against Albright College, falling 12-11 at home.
It was a back-and-forth game in which there were seven ties and four lead changes, including late in the second half when Mesa scored five unanswered and took a 6-5 lead into halftime. Unfortunately, the lead wouldn't be on their side when the clock ran out of time.
The CMU defense was unable to draw the ball away from Albright for over three straight minutes down the stretch. That allowed plenty of time for the Lions to set up a shot delivered and scored by sophomore Erin Farrell.
Mesa drops to 2-4 and will be on the road for the next month.
