GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO)-- Both soccer teams from Colorado Mesa received bids into the RMAC Championship Tournament, which begins Wednesday.

The Lady Mavs earned the sixth, and final, seed of the tournament. CMU will play third-seeded Metro State.

The men's team finished the regular season with a 8-6-4 record and received the fifth seed into the tournament.

This is only the second time the Mavericks men's soccer team has earned a berth into the postseason. The program is in its sixth year of existence.

Mavs head coach Josh Pittman said on Monday that the team achieved one of their goals by making the postseason, but, he added, "We think we're good enough to win this [tournament]."

CMU plays fourth-seeded UC-Colorado Springs on Wednesday.
