GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO)-- Coming off a 27-point loss to Colorado Mines this past weekend, the Mavericks football team has no time to reflect.

This weekend Colorado Mesa hosts the No. 1 football team in all of Division II, the CSU-Pueblo Thunderwolves.

While the Mavs have bounced back since an 0-3 start to a 3-5 record, they will face the best redzone team and the best rushing team in the conference when they line up against CSU-Pueblo.

As for the Mavs offense, it may be the first week starter Deke Cisco making his fourth start of the year on Saturday. Jason Haferman, the starter for the past five weeks was not in pads during practice on Tuesday.

Cisco was taking first team reps in practice as Haferman walked around in gym shorts with his left leg wrapped up in athletic bandage.

The game is slated for a 6:00pm kickoff on Saturday at Stocker Stadium.
