GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO)-- The Mavericks have shown Coach Hanks that they are capable of making late inning comebacks this season, but Sunday's game wasn't a supporting argument.
In the first three games of the CMU-UCSD series this weekend, the Tritons only managed 10 runs combined. Between innings 2 and 4 on Sunday, they tallied 11 runs. That would be enough to hold off two different rallies by the Mavs, who lost their third contest of the season, 11-7.
Colorado Mesa has almost a month layoff before they hit the diamond at Metro State on March 2nd.
