CMU grad, Kris Carlson registers 1st professional save

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO)-- CMU grad Kris Carlson has made his presence felt in his first season of minor league baseball.

Carlson was drafted in the 35th round of the 2012 MLB Amateur Draft by the Tampa Bay Rays. The right-handed pitcher made his first appearance on Tuesday in the GCL Rays' contest against the GCL Red Sox.

Carlson registered a 1-2-3 ninth inning with two ground-outs and a fly-out, as he completed the first save of his professional career. The GCL Rays won 3-2 in order to start 2-0 this summer.
