Colorado remains unbeaten, deal Riggers first defeat

ALBERTA, CANADA (NLL)-- Gavin Prout scored a power-play goal 45 seconds into overtime, John Grant Jr. became the fifth player in NLL history with 1,000 career points, and the Colorado Mammoth completed a two-game sweep through Alberta with a 13-12 victory over the Calgary Roughnecks on Saturday night at the Scotiabank Saddledome.
Prout finished with two goals and four assists and rookie Adam Jones had three goals and three assists for the Mammoth (3-0), who defeated Edmonton 13-12 on Friday.
Grant had four goals and six assists and became the fifth player in NLL history to reach 1,000 career points. He reached the milestone with an assist on a goal by Derek Hopcroft late in the first quarter.
Grant leads the NLL with 30 points (13 goals, 17 assists) through three games.
Now in his 12th NLL season and second with the Mammoth, the 37-year-old Grant has 482 goals and 525 assists career. Grant joins all-time leading scorer John Tavares, Gary Gait, Colin Doyle and Josh Sanderson with at least 1,000 points.
Darryl Veltman had three goals and three assists as the Roughnecks (2-1) lost for the first time in 2012.
