Denver East eliminates Fruita Monument from 5A playoffs

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO)-- The Fruita Monument boys' soccer team was eliminated from the 5A state tournament on Wednesday night.

The second seeded Denver East Angels defeated the 31st seeded Wildcats 5-1.

Fruita had four shots on goal, but the Angels keeper, Connor Donahue made three saves on those four shots.

The Wildcats finished the season with a 8-7-1 record. This was the team's third consecutive trip to the postseason.
