Dumervil sacked with serious charges in Miami

MIAMI BEACH, Fla. (AP) -- Denver Broncos defensive end Elvis Dumervil has been charged with aggravated assault with a firearm in Florida.

Court records show the 28-year-old is facing the third-degree felony charge in Miami-Dade County.

Det. Vivian Hernandez says Dumervil and another man were arrested Saturday in Miami Beach. No further details were immediately available.

A spokesman for the Denver Broncos said that the team is aware of the matter and continuing to gather facts. He said they will review the details as the legal process moves forward.

Dumervil is a Miami native and one of the Broncos' top defensive players.

Dumervil's attorney, Harvey Steinberg, said that no assault took place and he expects police to clear his client after they conclude their investigation.

EXACTLY! Today's players are removed from a very familiar slum environment and forced into the spot light and paid millions of dollars. Now they are just rich gang members. I quit watching the NBA years ago because it became a high paid penal league. I am afraid the NFL is following in the same footsteps.

well, now, it is not only the Broncos, this is representative of all teams, white or black, it is the thug life they live. This is all because they are coddled athletes, from early on they are special, they are treated as royalty through school, given a false sense of entitlement.
