GJ Rockies: Gray makes pro debut

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) - The draft's third overall pick Jonathan Gray made his long-awaited debut for the Grand Junction Rockies opposite the Billings Mustangs.

He struggled to find his rhythm right off the bat. Through three innings, he put out 40 pitches, 27 strikes. He allowed one unearned and three earned runs as the Billings took a 3-1 lead.

The Rockies helped the cause by coming out with a huge nine-run third inning as they went on to take a 10-6 win to break their three-game losing skid.

Gray will pitch again on Sunday afternoon when the team faces the Great Falls Voyagers for the first time this season. The game starts at 4:00 PM.
