GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) - The Grand Junction Rockies came back for their final homestand of the regular season, but the game did not go according to the plan.
The first inning remained scoreless, but the Chukars quickly blew up the scoreboard with 6 runs in the second off of numerous errors. Then a 3-run homerun in the third from Ethan Chapman only made the gap even more unbearable.
Even though Grand Junction managed a season-high five double plays, that defense would not be enough. They fell 12-3 and drop to 18-15 in the second half of play.
The teams will play again tomorrow evening at 6:05 PM for the fireworks game.
