GJ Rockies begin second half with 7-3 loss to Orem

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. Upon the conclusion of Saturday night's win over Orem, the Grand Junction Rockies reached the midway point with a 23-15 record, which despite being the most wins in franchise history for a first half, was still second to the Owlz.

They also increased their season-high win streak to five games, and were trying to use that momentum to begin the next half with a win, again against Orem.

Sam Howard made the start and gave up a run in the first, but the Rockies responded, getting RBI's from Yonathan Daza and Henry Garcia. They made it 3-1 when the double steal put Garcia on second and plated Daza.

From there, the Rox didn't touch the plate again, being blanked in the final eight innings.

Orem meanwhile, scored six more runs off of Howard and the bullpen to begin their half 1-0.

Final score: Orem 7, Grand Junction 3.

The Rockies travel to Orem for a two-game set on the road before returning to face Idaho Falls.
