GJ Rockies end their exciting season

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) - Skill, hard work, heart, and determination brought the Grand Junction Rockies to the playoffs, but they fell just short of the championship round.

After two 11-inning games against the Ogden Raptors, game 3 looked to be headed in the same direction. A grand slam from Julian Yan put the Rockies in the lead early on, but the Raptors quickly answered.

In the end, the Raptors took the lead and held on through 9 innings. The Rockies have been eliminated from the playoffs, while the Raptors will move to the championships to face the Missoula Osprey.

The Grand Junction Rockies finished second place overall in their inaugural regular season play at 43-33, only one game shy of tying the first place Ogden Raptors.
