GJ Rockies: Errors come back to plague Rockies

By  |

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) The Grand Junction Rockies posted four errors in their game against the Helena Brewers. In the end it ended up costing them the game.

In the top of the first, the Rockies already had two down when a misplayed ball from Dom Nunez allowed a run. Next batter would score a two-run home run and the Brewers suddenly jumped 3-0.

The Rockies offense would only be able to pull out four runs in their 8-4 loss, unable to capitalize on a big opportunity with bases loaded in the sixth inning.

Starting pitcher Alex Balog had been struggling in his appearances this season, but tonight he gave up just one earned run in his longest stretch of six innings. Unfortunately he'd still be charged with the loss pushing him back to 0-4.

Grand Junction wraps up their homestand 3-4 and will hit the road for a 4-game stretch. Their first game will come against Idaho Falls Wednesday night at 7 :15.
