GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) – The general manager of the Grand Junction Rockies has been named the top executive in The Pioneer League.
MILB.com says Tim Ray earned the honor after he spearheaded the Casper Ghosts’ club move from Wyoming to the Western Slope of Colorado last year.
When the Ghosts became the Grand Junction Rockies, Ray secured several multi-year sponsorships, sold 1,435 season tickets, managed media and oversaw a stadium development project worth $8.3 million.
According to MILB.com, the franchise set an attendance record of 101,496 fans last year.
The Pioneer League is comprised of the Grand Junction Rockies, Billings Mustangs, Great Falls Voyagers, Helena Brewers, Idaho Falls Chukars, Missoula Osprey, Ogden Raptors and Orem Owlz.
