GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO)-- The Billings Mustangs took over on Sunday afternoon in a 9-3 win against the Grand Junction Rockies.
The Mustangs came out quick with 3 runs in the first, and the Rockies couldn't answer until the fourth when Matt Wessinger put up his 3rd homer of the season. It continued the 5-game home run hitting streak, but it just wasn't enough.
A grand slam by Carlos Sanchez of Billings gave the team an extremely comfortable 9-1 lead in the seventh. The Rockies could only score a pair of runs in the ninth.
Grand Junction will continue on the road for 2 more games before heading back home to face the Osprey on Thursday.
