GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO)-- The Grand Junction Rockies are seeing a difference in hitting due to the higher altitude of the Western Slope.

Due to the decreased air pressure, the ball is able to sail through the air with less drag. Not only will the hit balls go farther than what the team is used to seeing, but the pitched balls will travel at slightly quicker speeds.

The team hit three easy home runs in their exhibition game on Thursday and hope that it is only the beginning to a great season.
