GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO)-- Eddie Butler saved the Rockies from what looked to be an atrocious ending to the Montana road-trip.
Butler started game two of the doubleheader on Tuesday and he pitched 5.1 shutout innings. Butler also recorded seven strikeouts in his second win of the season. The Rockies tallied six runs against Billings' starter Sal Romano, and held on for their first shutout victory of the season, 6-0.
The first game was a tale from the opposite end of the spectrum for Grand Junction. Johendi Jiminian was battered for nine runs - four of them earned - off of eight hits in four innings.
The Rockies committed six errors in the opener en route to their worst loss of the season, 15-2.
The Rockies have 10 games left on the schedule in the first half of the season. They start their next series against Missoula at Suplizio Field on Thursday.
