GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO)-- Ryan Garvey shares more than a name with his father, Steve. He shares the knack for playing great baseball.
Garvey was named the Pioneer League's Player of the Week on Monday. He's the first ever Grand Junction Rockie to receive the honor.
The 19-year-old from Riverside Community College is the son of former-MLB star Steve Garvey.
Ryan hit for a .500 average in his first 20 at-bats of minor league baseball. He batted in six runners along with two home-runs, one of which was the first ever Rockies' homer-run at Suplizio Field.
